How is the IELTS test conducted?
The IELTS test is conducted in four different sessions: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The first part tests your English listening skills and lasts 30 minutes. The second part tests your reading comprehension: you will be asked to read texts on a variety of topics and then answer a multiple choice test. The questions may be about everyday topics, education, society, etc. This test lasts 1 hour. In the third part you will write a text in English. Again, you have one hour to do this. Finally, the fourth part will test your English oral expression for about 10 to 15 minutes. This part takes place with an examiner: it is a short oral interview.
How is the IELTS graded?
You will be given a score for each of the following tests: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The final IELTS score is the average of these four scores. The final score is between 1 and 9 points, 1 being the lowest and 9 being the highest. This is the score that certifies your English level.
In order to obtain the best score possible, Wall Street English offers a specific training to its students. With Wall Street English, you can take a customized course with native-speaking teachers who specialize in IELTS.
